Why ShieldNex exists
In India, a family's savings often sit in a single plot of land. ShieldNex is being built so owners who live far away can see when that land changes.
What we are building
ShieldNex compares satellite images of a plot taken at different times. The design uses free public imagery first, and sharper licensed imagery when a case needs it. We hold no commercial licence today.
Before any comparison, a quality check looks for cloud, haze, shadow and poor alignment. If the images cannot support a clear answer, the result is marked inconclusive.
The design looks for three kinds of change. These are a new structure or extension, land clearing or earthwork, and a new track or enclosed compound. Walls and fences are checked only on sharper 0.5 m imagery.
A person must accept each possible change before anyone is alerted. ShieldNex has a research prototype, and the service itself is not built yet.
What a report can and cannot do
Each reviewed change is designed to come with a record of its source, licence, capture time, review and handling.
That record is meant to support the electronic-record rules of the IT Act 2000 and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023.
We do not claim that our output is admissible or court-ready. Admissibility and evidentiary weight are always for the court to decide.
A report does not decide ownership, title or whether a change is lawful. It is not a substitute for legal advice.
